Cal was such a cool spartan. It's a shame they always put everyone above their own safety..... :,(

Thats what made her and the others awesome, they aren't selfless at all, ^_^

You mean 'Selfish.' Selfless would be willing to sacrifice themselves whereas Selfish would be making others sacrifice themselves instead.

Actually, I'd say that her decision was rather selfish. An individual spartan is a more valuable war asset than an individual ODST. Cal would be likely to contributed more to humanity's effort in battle against the Covenant than the ODST she sacrificed herself to save, were she to have survived. I find the decision she made, although heroic, to be questionable.

So what if the ODSTs later become Spartans?
(Mind you, I have no idea about this franchise, so maybe they can't for some reason and I just don't know.)

Keijy, there's a finite amount of spartans, once they're gone they're gone and humanity has no way of replenishing their supply. So that anon was right, losing a spartan to save an ODST is a huge waste of wartime assets.

I'm still pretty sure she only had a concussion and is about to wake up rather annoyed by the whole thing.

Kinda reminds you how big Spartans tend to be.

Like your Comment, Anon.2. - but i disagree with that at the same Time.
That's one of the very heroic, likeable Charmepoints of all the Spartans.

They were originally meant to be faceless, ruthless Oppressors of other Humans, but they became the very Definition of a Hero.
Without huge Recognition or Recognition at all, most often with no Face to get remembered,

they are ready to die for the countless People weaker than them. It's a unthankful Job and Destiny, but they are still doing it despite it. The Spartans of Halo are inspiring Heroes of Mankind, rescuing even Faith in Humanity to some Extent.
