The move is pure awesomeness, with the piloting system similar to G Gundam and the cockpit placement exactly like the Vagans of Gundam AGE.

Like it wasn't mind-blowingly movie of the year or anything, but it really wasn't trying to be. It's a love letter to the giant robot and kaiju genres, and in that it succeeds brilliantly. It translates many of those classic tropes so well to the Hollywood screen.
