The heels I feel are a widebottomed and low heel, acctually fairly natural-feeling to some. And the armor has a thicker plate of armor over the chest due to the lesser need for mobility there. The wider, almost buckler style gauntlet and the smaller shoulder pieces offer better overall protection and flexibility of the arms. I don't know why there's a spike at the back of the heel...
