Have you considered how much time is wasted when power up, charge their attack or transform? It becomes really noticeable when you see their opponents just stand there watching it happen like some sort of dumbass. All I can say is that Gohan sitting there while an old geezer dances in a circle around him WAS a waste of time and WASN’T fan service, but at least he was strong enough to waste even more time fighting Buu and than get absorbed by him.
