@the anon who didn't get very far: If you didn't get past a few chapters, I can see why you wouldn't like the character. The author was still viewing the characters as from their original humiliation fetish doujin, thus making Nagatoro an insufferable monster in the early chapters. But after a number of chapters he makes it more wholesome and audience friendly, because his editors told him audiences were finding Nagatoro too cruel and meanhearted.
