Except that GS is sort of good at doing what he says and is even renowned or infamous for his genocidal ways.

Eren to be fair was still very young, he doesn’t have the raw talent like some others do but he’s progressing. Also I think he sort of matured, grew up and beyond that angry murder child that was screaming about killing titans realizing that things aren’t so black and white. It’s sort of like in zombie stories where the mindless monsters become backdrop to the real villains who think and have actual motivations: corrupt people of power.
