I don’t wanna nitpick but the chest bursting isn’t instantaneous. The facehugger detaches itself and dies shortly after the deed is done sort of like a bee after stinging someone, the host will continue on like everything’s normal for a while before it happens.
Unless Samus is dead or in a coma, she’s just lying there the entire time which is just sort of weird to imagine.
“Hmm, I guess I’ll just lie here with this thing on my face.”

Anon 2, notice how the facehugger has wrapped itself around Samus' neck. With a lack of oxygen and probably a justified fear of blowing her own head off by accident, I suspect Samus wasn't sure of what to try (or do) until it was too late.
