My question now would be are they making pancakes, blinis, or crepes? The tag says pancakes, but given the ingredients used and how the cakes are prepared, there's more ambiguity about it just being just a pancake.

The game was made by a polish dude.
They eat polish pancakes or naleśniki. Śmietana is just sour cream.
