May I ask ... how was this possible?

Detexting an image full of texts must have been a lot of work, a lot of effort, and a LOT of time to edit.

Because the artist that made this probably had a copy with no text and they got it from there. Comic images/panels these days aren't drawn with the bubbles and text directly on the image anymore (at least... not usually), they usually have the original piece unobstructed.
