I honestly can't tell if this is supposed to be two versions of Elena or Elena during BC and her sister the gun user. I would assume the latter but I don't want to jump to any faulty conclusions, so I just left it.

I would assume it is her sister. As I recall, Elena never used a gun in FFVII.
