While the colour grading of these works was done to apparently match the actual shantae according to the artist, the reality of the situation is that they still definitely lightened the character. Shantae is darker than this, the person here represents a fairly light skinned person's. It's not bad but it's not as easy as suggesting that a shadow colour grade is the same as shantae overall so "it's the same skin colour" doesn't work. This is a lightening of the original because Shantae is darker than this in sunlight. "bloom effect on the viewers eyes" is copium. That said, it's still a great piece of work by the artist as always
