Hideaki Anno once stated in an interview that Asuka has the worst gas in the entire cast. She's just got these dastardly hamburger and sauerkraut engine rumbler farts that could kill an Angel if she chose to do so. He stated that this represented her own resentment for her mother leaking out and destroying her relationships with other people.
