This makes me think of the one Gundam protagonist who was actually planned to be female during their series' conception, but the producers changed the character's sex to male at the last minute. Yes, you KNOW which Gundam anime I refer to.

Start thinking of Secelia as a "Rule 63'd" version of that protagonist. It's still hot, considering said male protagonist had an androgynous look to him (arguably more feminine).
