According the netflix show though, them exploding into money doesn't necessarily mean that they died. The twins apparently 'respawned' and became friends with Old Scott later on, and Scott respawns at least once in the comic. The creator of Scott Pilgirm mentioned somewhere that the exes just respawned at their homes after being defeated. But on the other hand, everyone went to Scott's funeral after the same thing happened to him, thinking he really was dead and gone forever. So, who knows. Maybe it varies?
