Now Viewing: kiryuuin_souichirouTag type: Character The father of Kiryuuin_Satsuki and husband of Kiryuuin_Ragyou. He is lab coat wearing man with puffy short hair. He is a brilliant scientist who did plenty of important research concerning the Life Fibers alongside his wife Ragyou. Souichirou was also the person who introduced Satsuki to Junketsu which Satsuki considers one of the most important days of her life. Although Souichirou speaks in flashbacks, he is one of the few characters to not be given a voice; his dialogue is rendered in subtitles likely to hide the fact that he is actually Matoi Isshin. After Souichirou witnessed Ragyou callously abandon Ryuuko once she thought Ryuuko died because of the experiments, he turned against her full force. He told Satsuki the truth about her mother, inspiring Satsuki to rebel against her mother. He then recovered the not quite dead Ryuuko and ran off, faking his death when he was suddenly ambushed. From then on, he assumed the identity of Matoi Isshin by getting plastic surgery and completely altering his posture. He also gave Ryuuko her name.
