The latter aspect was partially inspired by the Ugandan movie Who Killed Captain Alex? which became memetically popular when it was uploaded online. Unlike regular Knuckles, Ugandan Knuckles is short and stocky with bulging eyes and a lack of neck. His appearance originated in 2017 review of Sonic Lost World by the youtuber Gregzilla. He was then adapted into a 3d model by deviantart artist tidiestflyer. This allowed him to be frequently used in VR Chat videos. He also speaks in African-accented English, often asking, "Do you know the way?" often phonetically rendered as "Do you know de wey?"
