A human girl living in the outside world with the ability to see borders of any kind, including the one which separates our world from Gensoukyou. Along with Usami_Renko, she is the member of an Occult Club with the secret purpose of finding a way into Gensoukyou. Some aspects of Maribel appear to be based on Lafcadio Hearn [1], one of the first writers to spread knowledge of Japanese folklore to the West, who eventually married a Japanese woman and changed his name to Koizumi Yakumo. Like Yakumo_Yukari, she is often depicted as having blonde_hair and wearing a purple dress and a mob_cap Due to both characters having boundary-related abilities, as well as a degree of visual resemblance, fan theories abound about a possible connection between Maribel and Yakumo_Yukari, with some even going so far as to suggest that they are somehow the same person.
