He is a blonde muscular American young man who wears a red jacket and hat with the series title Fatal Fury on it. He wears jeans and ties his hair into a ponytail. He switches to a brown jacket and loses the hat in the distant sequel Garou: Mark of the Wolves. He is the star of the Fatal Fury series of fighting games and is one of the most iconic characters SNK has created. He has also become the mascot of the company. He is the older brother of Andy Bogard. The two orphans were adopted by Jeff Bogard and they came to live in Southtown. Unfortunately, 10 year old Terry witnessed his adopted father's death at the hands of the ruthless gangster Geese Howard. Terry and Andy promise to rigorously train themselves so that they can one day avenge Jeff's death. Terry opted to stay and train in the United States and became Tung Fu Rue's student. He also gained fighting experience by battling various opponents on the street and loves playing basketball. All of these varied experiences gave Terry the ability to form his own unique fighting style with moves taken from all of these sources. Ten years later, Terry reunites with Andy and the two of them get the chance to avenge Jeff's death when Geese opens a fighting tournament called King of Fighters. Unlike his serious younger brother, Terry is cheerful and laid-back and has knack for befriending others. He is close friends with Joe Higashi. Terry is also the leader of the Fatal Fury team in the King of Fighters series which consists of himself, Andy, and Joe. Although he is voiced by a Japanese voice actor, his dialogue is entirely in English. Since English is not the voice actor's native language, his pronunciations are mangled by his accent. However, Terry's Engrish has become a beloved character trait and he continues to speak in this fashion in all of his video game appearances with voice acting. In his anime appearances, he speaks in Japanese like the other characters in the original Japanese voice track.
