It is set in a new Hyrule, and unlike Wind Waker, mostly takes place on land. The new form of transportation is a train and train tracks connect all the locations in the game. The game was released in 2009 for the Nintendo DS. It is notable for Zelda taking on an active role in gameplay and storyline, assisting Link in the Tower of Spirits by possessing armors and accompanying him throughout the entire adventure. Link and Zelda have to work together to solve some puzzles and defeat a few of the bosses. The story begins with Link as a young boy who wishes to be an engineer. He meets Zelda at Hyrule Castle where she gives him a diploma that honors him as an official Royal Engineer and confides in him her suspicions of her chancellor, Chancellor Cole. Her suspicions prove to be correct as Chancellor Cole, along with his right hand man Byrne, steal Zelda's body and causes the train tracks in the world to suddenly disappear. The two men plan to resurrect the demon king Malladus who has been sealed away. Link heads to the Tower of Spirits with Zelda's ghost to investigate. There, they meet Anjean, who tells them that they must recover Rail Maps from the tower, which will reveal the way to the temples that will restore the train tracks. Link and Zelda are given the Spirit Train as their form of transportation and the two of them team up to restore the train tracks and foil Cole's plans.
