She was an infamous and extremely powerful being in Rogueport's history and was responsible for numerous atrocities and is one of the cruelest beings in the Mario series. Many years prior to the beginning of Paper_Mario:_the_thousand_year_door. she was finally stopped by four heroes who managed to seal her away with the power of the Crystal Stars. However, the heroes' victory was bittersweet in that they ended up cursed by the Queen to be trapped in treasure chests for the rest of their lives. Mario and co. discover that the real reason why Grodus wants the Crystal Stars is to revive the Queen. He has also kidnapped Peach in order to make her the vessel for the Queen.
